Are my old Ashes cards compatible with Ashes Ascendancy?

All Ashes Reborn products (red box) are fully compatible with Ashes Ascendancy. The original version of Ashes (white box) is not entirely, but there are Upgrade Sets to bring all those cards up to date. Alternatively, you can keep your collection and simply cull out those cards that are no longer legal. We are also working to make the Upgrade Kit a free download on our POD site! More news coming soon.

Will you offer other Plaid Hat Games products later in the pledge manager?

No. Due to the scope and complications of already offering so many different products for this international campaign, we unfortunately cannot offer our entire catalog of games at this time.

Will I be able to get different or more dice later if I need it?

Yes! Your starter set will include all the Astral and Artifice dice you will need, but any kind of dice can be ordered from our web-store or included in a Print on Demand (POD) order. Future Ashes Ascendancy sets will include any required dice featured in their respective sets.

Will there be more expansions?

You bet! We will continue to release about 3 new Ashes products a year, each compatible with your Ashes Ascendancy Starter Set. The current plan is for each new set to include 2 new Phoenixborn, 60 new player cards, related conjurations, 10 dice for the expansion’s featured magic type, and 1 brand new Dragonborn with its own deck.

I have a Team Covenant Ashes subscription. Will it keep going?

Yes indeed! While the Ashes Ascendancy Starter Set will only be offered here during this campaign, and later at retail, once the set has been released, your subscription with Team Covenant will pick back up. While Ashes Ascendancy products will no longer have a 3-month exclusivity window with Team Covenant (you’ll also be able to buy them at retail), we heartily recommend the subscription service. It’s a really convenient way to get new Ashes products as soon as they’re available. Visit this link for more details:

I really love Ashes. Would it be inappropriate to name a child after Ashes Ascendancy designer, Nick Conley?

Speaking frankly, if you aren’t willing to name at least one child after Nick, are you really even a fan?

How do Late Pledges work?

Because of the shifting tariff situation, in lieu of doing a normal pre-order page on Backerkit we are using a beta program that only collects your email and desired pledge level. You can submit those here: https://ashes-ascendancy.backerkit.com/survey_stores If you sign up for a late pledge, when it comes time to send out surveys to backers, you will get a survey as well. In the survey you will be able to change your pledge level, include add-ons, give us your address, view shipping costs, and if you are happy with everything, pay for your order.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
